about
Heian Jingu Shrine Concert(All seats reserved)
The moon-viewing culture spread from Kyoto in the Heian period as an elegant custom.
Even in China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other Southeast Asian countries, there is a custom of celebrating the beautiful moon with great pomp and circumstance.
The ancient culture of moon- viewing is recreated in a modern way.

Venue
Heian Jingu Shrine/Special Stage
(Nishi Tennocho, Okazaki, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City)
In 1895 (Meiji 28), Heian Jingu Shrine was built to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the transfer of the capital to Heian, with the 50th Emperor Kammu as a deity.
The shrine building was built inspired by the Heiankyo Chodoin, which is reminiscent of the capital’s gorgeous era of dynastic culture.
Vermilion pillars and a blue tiled roof create a magnificent contrast.
The elegant and pure flow of time weaved by the eternal history of Heian-kyo 1,000 years will invite your heart to peace.
*Scaffolding has been erected at Daigoku-den Hall of Heian Shrine for the 130th anniversary of the shrine's foundation. Please be advised of this in advance.
